Fandemonium

*Fan-(noun) An enthusiastic devotee, follower, or admirer of a sport, pasttime, celebrity, etc.

*Pandemonium-(noun) Wild uproar or unrestrained disorder; tumult or chaos.

*Fandemonium-(noun) Uproar of fans sometimes leading to tumult or chaos.

~Disclaimer: fandemonium is a word I made up. not in dictionary.~

Everytime I hear someone say I am so and so's biggest or number one fan I often wonder what makes such a claim true. For the example I will just use Green Day. The person then would back their claim up saying well I have all their cds, my bedroom walls are covered with their posters, all my t-shirts are Green Day shirts, I have gone to so many concerts, and basically what I hear is blah...blah...blah!!! I don't mean to sound rude but I really don't believe in the statement of one being someone's number one fan or their biggest fan. All that person told me was that they seem to be a little obssessed. This is of course just my opinion.

Why does this person, as well as many others, measure being the number one fan as buying all their merch, going to tons and tons of concerts, as being just that, the number one fan? I guess buying the cd's/movies, going to concerts/theatres, and things of that nature aren't enough to earn the coveted title as the number one fan.

My stance on this is if you support the person in every way that you can then you are a true fan. To tell someone who can't afford to buy all sorts of merch, go to numbers of concerts, etc...that they aren't the number one fan can hurt someone's feelings. I say if you as a fan support the person unwaiveringly then you are the number one fan. Every fan is the number one fan.

Noone can judge what makes a fan a fan but your own self. If you believe that you are a big fan, well then you are a big fan. I am big fan of plenty of actors, athletes, and musicians but I will never say that I am their number one fan. There is no difinitive way I or any other person will ever know the latter holds true.

Being a big fan can lead into the pandemonium part of fandemonium. There are limits that one needs to stand by. Otherwise chaos will break out, people will get hurt, and as fan you will fall into the category of psycho obssessed fan. I am sure noone wants to fall into that category.

So for me being as supportive as I can to the people/teams I am a fan of is enough!! How do you feel about this subject? Feedback is appreciated.

"Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)"

~Warning: This will be one of my longer blogs~

I remember when I would attend school and hear about all the concerts my friends would attend. I was a little jealous because at 16 years old I still didn't attend a concert. Little did I know the year of 2005 would be the year I attended my very first one.

One day my sister called me some amazing news. She told me that one of our cousins had left his jazz band Big Bad Voodoo Daddy because he was asked to join Green Day. Yes you definitely read that right. I remember being speechless on the phone and my sister had to ask me if I was ok. I told her I was but was stunned by the info I had just received. It took a while for the words to pass through my ears and connect with my brain. I really couldn't fathom how any relatice of mine would get the chance to tour with such a well known established band. I mean seriously. He got to tour with the same people who created the ten times platinum Dookie album and the Grammy award winning American Idiot.

My sister grew up listening to Green Day so this was like hitting the jackpot for her. I got hooked to their music because of her. The reason she called was because she wanted to buy tickets to see our cousin in a show. I was jumping for joy because I would be seeing Green Day for my first concert. My sister would be at work the day the tickets went on sale so she gave me her info so I could buy the tickets.

The purchase date finally arrived. I was super excited. I turned on my computer, opened up firefox, and loaded up ticketmaster. I searched for Green Day and the tour page loaded. We didn't want to wait too long to see the concert so we decided to attent the May 7th show in Grand Rapids. I selected tickets, filled out all the info and finally reached the final purchase page. I was one click away from possibly creating one of the memorable nights of my life. It was done, tickets were purchased.

The time leading up to the concert dragged and dragged on. With each passing day my anticipation grew. A day before the concert my sister came over to pick me up. The whole way driving to her house all we could do was talk about how excited we were and what songs we hoped they played. That night was possibly the hardest time I ever had falling asleep. I managed to do so well into the night. My sister had woke me up really early so we could get ready, eat breakfast, and load the car.

My sister wanted to do my makeup and hair really bad for my first concert so I let her. She made me look grunge punk and I liked. My sister had me buy four tickets so that my brother and her then boyfriend could come. We were all finally ready to go. We all piled into my sister's Saturn. This was a pretty uncomfortable ride because the car was compact. Definitely one time I was glad I am not 6'3 like my brother. My sister put the key in the ignition, started the engine, and that was the point when I got butterflies in my stomach.

The ride was the longest drive I have ever had to endure for a few reasons. One is because my excitement level kept increasing with each mile that we passed and two is I had to use the washroom the whole way to Michigan. We finally arrived in Michigan and the first thing we did was stop at a Walgreens so we could all use the restroom. This is the time my sister took to call our cousin. While she was on the phone she kept saying thankyou alot and we didn't know why and were confused. After a good 15 minutes she finally ended the call.

She was freaking out because our cousin told her he upgraded our seat tickets to floor tickets, got us afterparty passes, and after the show we get to visit a merch table for free merch. I really didn't know how this day could get any better. We reached the arena, parked, called our cousin, and headed to the inside. I swear I have never seen a longer line in any other concert I have attended after this concert. We got inside and headed to will call to get our upgrades. The we waited for my cousin so we could talk to him for a bit. I was looking at all the pictures they had and when I looked up I seen my cousin gliding down the escalator. We all hugged and talked for a bit. It was time for him to go but he told us we could skip the line.

It finally came time to head to the floor. When we walked through the doors and I saw the stage the butterflies came back. I was actually getting nervous. We were able to get pretty close to the stage. About twenty minutes went by, the place was packed, the pre-concert shenanigans were over and the opening act was ready to go. The whole time My Chemical Romance was performing I didn't pay attention much part;y because I am not a big fan of them. Their set ended and intermission began. I swear it was the longest intermission ever.

All of a sudden the lights dim, the crowd goes wild, and everyone rushed toward the stage to get as close as possible. I felt like a sardine because we were packed so closely. Concerts are the only time I will tolerate being that close to someone I have never met. The first song begins. The music is blaring, the arena shaking, the crowd screaming, and the pyro-technics begin. I was so thrilled by what I was hearing and watching. I was so enthralled that at one point my brother had asked me if I was ok and I didn't even notice. There was a lot of moshing, the smell of pot reeked in the air, drinks being spilled everywhere, and people being passed through the crowd. I loved every second of every minute that passed.

The final encore song ends and confetti falls from the ceiling. I reached out and grabbed some of the falling confetti and stuck it in my pocket. When we get out I am dripping sweat, my hair is all over the place, and my makeup is pretty much gone because of my sweat. I really didn't care. My ears were ringing still so I couldn't hear to well. The fun is not over yet. We find our way to the afterparty where we meet up with our cousin. We all tell him how incredible the show was. Our cousin got all of us guitar pics and gave my sister an autographed picture. The afterparty was a fun time. We used it as catch up time with our cousin.

About ten minutes before the party was over he directed us to a merch table and told us we could have whatever we wanted. I didn't want to be to greedy so I picked out one shirt but he wasn't having any of that so he told me to get a sweater as well. It was time for him to go. I was sad because we hardly ever see him but he told my sister he wanted us to attend the show in Chicago. I perked up knowing I was going to experience this all over again. The day went by extremely fast. I savored each and every moment as best I could.

My favorite parts of the show were when Billy Joe Armstrong asked if anyone in the crowd played the bass, guitar, or drums. He picked three people to come on the stage and they were able to rock out with them. The person who played the drums got to keep the drumsticks and jump back into the crowd. The people who played guitar and bass got to keep the instruments. I thought that was so amazing. I definitely loved the pyro-technics. I didn't even care that it made it even hotter in the arena. I love it when you can hear the crowd singing. The absolute best part was being able to share my experience with people I love. That night when my head hit the pillow I crashed.

This is one day that I can remember as if it were yesterday.

So take the photographs, and still frames in your mind
Hang it on a shelf in good health and good time
Tattoos of memories and dead skin on trial
For what it's worth it was worth all the while

It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life~

My first blog topic

Hello to all. This is my first official blog andI hope my blogs are semi-interesting for you because I am new to all of this. I apologize for any spelling errors or grammatical errors as I am no writer. This blog is just for fun so it will consist of many random thoughts, ideas, and experiences. One thing I really want to do is either add music lyrics that relate to the blog in someway or an inspirational/motivational quote. Everyone needs some inspiration and motivation in their lives. I could possibly add my own clever words of wisdom to add some flava to the blog. Ok I think that's a pretty decent first blog. Here is the quote for this blog. It doesn't really apply but this blog is just an introduction. Hope to write some good blogs for all.
